He’s still very much undiscovered by college programs, and has seen no direct recruitment as of now – something he hopes will change as he continues to improve.
“I know my coach has been talking about a couple schools coming out to watch us play, but I haven’t really talked to any coaches or seen any direct interest or anything like that,” said the 5-foot-9 junior.
“I just hope that I can improve my game and hopefully coaches start reaching out because of it.”
Richardson considers himself to be a pass-first point guard, and relishes the opportunity to be his team’s primary distributor.
“I would say I’m more of a playmaker-type and a passer-type player,” said Richardson. “Our offense is set up where me and the other guards are attackers, and then we kick out and let other teammates score.”
He mentioned his vision and awareness is something he’d like to improve this season.
“Definitely my vision and just keeping my head up looking for the right play is something I’m working on right now. And then finishing too, definitely finishing,” said Richardson, who says his leadership is key tpo the Lions’ success this season.
“I’m one of the two leaders, me and Joey O’Dwyer,” said Richardson. “We just try and teach our guys and make them realize how our program goes.”
He added: “I know off the court my goals are to keep my grades up, on the court I just want to be more vocal and to lead our team to the playoffs and eventually a state championship.”
