The nightcap of the games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse featured the Lebanon Tigers and the Brebuf Jesuit Braves. Lebanon was severely outmatched in both athleticism and on the scoreboard being defeated 58-45.
The Braves held a 15-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and they would run away with it from there taking a 29-13 lead into the half.
The second quarter for the Tigers hurt their chances of winning by only scoring two points but even more so than that, they allowed Brebuf easy baskets off of offensive rebounds.
Lebanon would cut into the lead a little bit in each of the final two quarters but could not capitalize and get the deficit to under eight at any point in the final half of play.
Lebanon on multiple occasions would make a shot and immediately let Brebuf score at the other end or commit a foul and send them to the line for easy points.
The lead was cut to eight with 5:17 left in the game and Lebanon had all the momentum after going on a run but they committed fouls and turned the ball over too many times to have a shot at getting it down to a one possession game at the end. Lebanon committed nine turnovers in the game, many of which were unforced.
The key to those turnovers was that Brebuf did score 11 points off of them. Brebuf also pulled down nine offensive boards in the game.
The bright spot for the Tigers in the game was big man inside Trevor Lakes who scored 29 points while knocking down four 3-pointers. He had a double-double as he also collected 10 rebounds. Junior Will Byrd was the second leading scorer with 14 points.
Junior guard Kobie McNeal scored 16 points on four 3-pointers and 4 free throws to lead Brebuef. Senior Matt Broderick followed him with 10 points, the only other scorer for Brebuf in double digits.
