Michael Bibby 6’1” Shadow Mountain
The best senior point guard in Arizona. Bibby is a legitimate mid major prospect, evident by his offers and recent performances against high level competition. He’s a playmaker that plays the game with great poise. He possesses ideal court vision for his position and, in addition, makes good passes (something that is severely overlooked). All of this is complemented by his ability to knock down outside shots at a high level.
Tarik Cool 6’1” Desert Vista
Cool is a player who’s recruitment has cooled off some since the spring but, make no mistake, he’s a solid player that has a chance at a nice future at the college level. He’s a crafty guard that can shoot it from the perimeter and understands how to vocally lead a team. A D2, NAIA D1 prospect.
Matt Downey 6’2” Boulder Creek
Matt has always been a skilled point guard but his growth spurt over the summer has caused his stock to rise. He can make open shots, gets in the paint, and finds teammates off the bounce. A D2, NAIA D1 prospect.
Terry Gates 6’1” Copper Canyon
A defensive minded lead guard that plays with effort and intensity. He’s a hard worker and, though only adequate in his offensive skillset, he continues to improve with time in the gym and experience with the ball in his hands. He gets to the basket well but will need to continue his decision making and the consistency of his outside shooting. A D3/NAIA D2 prospect with a higher upside.
Tommy Kuhse 6’1” Mountain View
A playmaker, Kuhse is a wizard with the ball in his hands. He is very shifty with deceiving quickness and a great offensive feel. He has a nice floater in the key and a set shot with much improved consistency. A great D2, NAIA D1 prospect who has already been hearing from high level programs such as Arizona Christian and Concordia (CA).
Julian Payton 5’9” Hillcrest Prep
The younger son of NBA All-Star Gary Payton, Julian doesn’t have the size of his father or older brother but plays with the same defensive intensity. He’s a tough guard that has the ability to draw defenders and find teammates. A nice prospect at the D2 and NAIA D1 levels.
Jake Rueter 6’2” Seton Catholic Prep
A playmaker for himself and teammates, Rueter plays with great pace. He has a skilled handle, good court vision, and scores at three different levels. A legitimate D2, NAIA D1 prospect.
Parker Trujillo 5’10” Tucson
A quick, playmaking point guard Trujillo is tough. He has a great sense offensively and gets to the paint where he is able to draw attention from secondary defenders and kick to open shooters or drop off for quick layups. A D3/NAIA D2 prospect.
Malique Washington 5’11” McClintock
Washington is an attack first lefty that is very good at getting to the basket. He plays with a chip on his shoulder on both ends of the floor. Malique’s decision making needs to improve but he’s an aggressive competitor that can make things happen. Small colleges of all levels should take a look.
Kyle Van Haren 5’11” Perry
Kyle controls pace as well as any player in the state. He is a natural leader by example and makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. He is capable of knocking down open shots and understands how to get his teammates the ball in scoring position. A player that could fit at multiple small college levels.
