Crespi started hot knocking in four straight threes before Chaminade’s star guard and playmaker Josh Hauser went down with a severe high ankle sprain. From there it was all Celtics as Crespi finished the first quarter up 26-0. In the second quarter Chaminade was able to get on the board but entered the second half down 52-15. Crespi finished with a 76-30 win to advance to an 18-1 record on the season.

Josh Hauser PG 5’11 2016
Hauser was the clear focus for Crespi’s defense as they sent two players at him in the full court. The senior guard was tough and poised as he did not let pressure bother him, making calm yet aggressive decisions with the ball. He went out early with an injury trying to make a hustle play and though he tried to fight through it, coming back into the game afterwards, he quickly went down again after making a quick cut. He was the clear key to his team’s success, confidence, and productivity.
Aidan Dolan SG 6’2 2016
Dolan was very tough and aggressive yesterday. When Hauser went out he looked to take on the scoring load. He shot it very well from the perimeter and, though he lacked athletically, played tough defense at numerous positions. Worth a D3/NAIA D2 look.
Dayton Doucette SF 6’3 2017
A lengthy and athletic player, XXX is a very solid and versatile defender. He plays very hard and was active in the glass. With Hauser injured he had to handle the ball a lot more an was noticeably uncomfortable but was still productive in other areas. Worth a D3/NAIA D2 look.
Tino Mobley Jr G 6’1 2018
Mobley has played sparingly this season but got a chance with the injury to Hauser. The son of former Houston Rockets standout Cuttino Mobley, Tino had a solid showing. He’s definitely green but has some length and a solid feel for the game. He was able to get by his defender and find teammates on the opposite side of the floor. He also got to the rim in transition. Tough to project his level right now but with some work he could definitely at at some level collegiately.
Makur Maker C 6’11 2019
He’s young and he’s raw but boy does he have upside! It’s his first year playing organized basketball but there’s a strong chance in a year or two he will be a household name among high major coaches. Maker has a lot of length and mobility at 6’11. He moves very fluidly and, in only a year, has shown some progress as a defensive presence and finisher. He caught some tough passes, had two strong finish above the rim, and showed some emotion and toughness after blocking a shot at the rim.
Finnley O’Rourke SF 6’6 2019
O’Rourke has a chance. He’s a 6’6 wing and played very hard and aggressively. He attacked off the bounce and went into contact numerous times. He made a hard drive to give Chaminade their first two points. He’s definitely raw but has the size, length, and toughness to develop into a solid prospect at some level.

De’Anthony Melton G 6’3 2016
The USC commit definitely has some upside. He’s a lengthy and athletic perimeter performer that is shifty and changes direction well. He was clearly the best athlete on the floor and was able to get to the paint at will. He had some trouble finishing and only hit one outside shot but he played with a very poised demeanor and never got too up or too down. What was most impressive was his ability to find open teammates when attention was focused on him. He is a special player in transition and, if he can hone his ball handling skills, could develop into a lead guard at the next level.
Mitchell Mykhaylov PF 6’6 2016
Mitchell had a solid night. He has good length and mobility at 6’6 and was afraid of contact. He aggressively attacked Chaminade’s nearly 7-foot defender, finishing over him a couple times. He looked comfortable with the ball in his hands as a face up 4 and confidently attempted a 3. A D2/NAIA D1 prospect.
Billy Oxley G 5’11 2017
Oxley was a good complementary player to the Celtic’s star guards. He was a good catch and shoot player from the perimeter and wasn’t afraid of contact. A D3/NAIA D2 prospect.
Rob Hunter SF 6’4 2017
Hunter is a big bodied forward that played very aggressively. Formerly a Chaminade player, he was heckled by the crowd as soon as he touched the ball with “we don’t miss you chants”. Rob may have changed their mind after scoring seven straight points on baseline drives, throwing his body into the defender and finishing through contact. A D3/NAIA D2 prospect.
Brandon Williams PG 6’0 2018
Williams was clearly the best player on the floor Friday night. The sophomore point guard controlled tempo and made play after play to continue Crespi’s lead. Brandon has a great feel for the game. He has tremendous vision, wisdom beyond his years, and changes pace very well. He also made shots from the perimeter and finished with contact at the rim. Head coach Russell Wilson made comparisons to former Crespi guard and current Virginia standout London Perrantes with a hint of more athleticism. If he continues at this rate and learns to play hard at all times then he is a legitimate high major prospect.
Taj Regans PG 5’7 2018
Regans had a solid night. The sophomore guard is small but quick and explosive. He was able to get to the paint a lot and pressure a lot defensively. A D3/NAIA D2 prospect.
