SG Dulan Scott (Farragut _ 2016)
Scott has great size and strength at 6’4” for the two guard position. He knows how to set up his defender using hesitation and ball screens. The senior is strong with the ball and draws contact at the rim when finishing on the interior. Solid rebounding guard. Did hit one jump shot, but that is an area he needs to refine. He had 17 points. D3, NAIA, or JUCO schools should have him on their radar.
C Tawone Keith (Farragut _ 2016)
Keith is a big boy! The big bodied post has actually slimmed down over the last year and it has helped the 6’8” post to be a more productive rebounder. He dominated against Crete on the boards consistently boxing out and snatching the rebounds with his huge hands. He had several offensive rebound put backs. Keith is a high volume rebounder that takes up space on the interior. Offensively he isn’t really a drop the ball in the post and make a move guy as he is pretty raw there, but he definitely can score on dump off passes and quick dishes inside from his guards as he has soft hands. Went for 9 points and 15 rebounds. With the lack of bigs in the state he should be under consideration at the D2 level and would be a great D3, NAIA, or JUCO candidate.
SG Chris Bender (Richards _ 2016)
Bender is a well-built 6’0” shooting guard that shot the ball well from the perimeter. Good mechanics on his jumper. He knocked them in from a variety of spots on the floor. Bender hit a corner three, mid-range jumper, and several 10 foot shots. Solid rebounder for position and height. He had 11 points. Worth a look for JUCO programs.
PF Meriton Bunjaku (Von Steuben _ 2016)
Bunjaku has long arms and good strength in his upper body while maintaining some mobility. He keeps the ball high when making moves in the post. High points offensive rebounds and had a couple nice put backs. Plays physical around the hoop on both ends of the floor with a great motor. Length plays well on the defensive end. Finished with 13 points. Quality D3, NAIA, or JUCO prospect.
PF Albert Hankins (Seton _ 2016)
Hankins is a wide shouldered and strong 6’6” four man that is active around the hoop. He finishes strong in the paint above the rim. Plus athlete that rebounds well. Worth monitoring by D3, NAIA, and JUCO programs.
C Myles Howard (Marian Catholic _ 2016)
Howard is a 6’7” center with great length. That plays well on the defensive end of the floor. He is effective as a shot blocker coming from the weakside and also alters interior post players from taking shots with the fear of him swatting it in their face. Offensively is off to a slow start. He runs the floor well and keeps the ball high, but hasn’t proven to be a low post scorer to this point. D2 programs would wise to check him out!
SG Josh Roberts (Westinghouse _ 2016)
Roberts struggled to get anything going against Marian Catholic. The athletic 6’1” wing bricked several deep jump shots. He is best in the transition game where he can get up and down the floor. Had a couple nice finishes in the open floor. Flashes ability as a passer. D3/NAIA prospect.
PG Devin Gage (Curie _ 2016)
Gage is a physical 6’1” combo guard that is the senior leader. He did a little bit of everything in their win over Proviso West. Ran the point well making solid decisions with the ball and initiating the offense. Powerful getting in the lane with strength. Got an offensive rebound put back. Had a steal that he finished with an end to end drive. The DePaul commit finished with 8 points.
C Liddell Davis (Proviso West _ 2016)
Davis is a big bodied power forward that finishes well around the hoop. Good on catching quick passes inside. Flashed footwork. Defensively showed well as a shot blocker. Intriguing kid that could make even bigger strides at the JUCO level for two years.
PF Victor Curry (Crete _ 2016)
Curry is an athletic 6’6” power forward that runs the floor well. He is active on the glass with his quickness and mobility. Can also step out to hit a three. D3, NAIA, and JUCO prospect with some upside.
SG Jeremiah Matthews (Crete _ 2016)
I liked this 6’2” senior guard when I saw him last year. The lefty didn’t have one of his stronger games as he didn’t get it going offensively besides a catch and shoot three and a transition bucket. Finished with 5 points. D3, NAIA, and JUCO kid.
