Davontavean Martin (6’4 G, 2017) – Martin is currently a MM guard with the ability to attack the rim and finish well above it in either transition or a half court set. When engaged, he is a lock down defender as well. Consistent development shows room for growth is still there. (see dunk below)
Quentin Scott (6’5 F, 2016) – Scott is a coaches son and can usually counted on to be in the right place. Extremely athletic and a much improved shot that stretches to the three point line. Still raw in areas but certainly has LM potential.
Curtis Anderson (5’11 G, 2016) – Anderson was fearless throughout the game whether it was on the drive or taking a 3 in what was a tightly contested game from tip off to the final buzzer. Can defend the perimeter as well.
Port Allen
Nigel Allen (6’1 PG, 2016) – Allen is thin but extremely quick with the ball. Can run a team or score in bunches like he did against Ellender with 14 in the 4th (30 total). Quick release from outside and the ability to defend at a high level. D2 point guard who could be a steal.
Andre Williams (6’3 F, 2017) – Williams has made the transition from post/slasher to being about to play on the wing as a shooter or attack the rim. As he develops both defensively and with the offensive skillset, he could become a solid NAIA-D2 wing.
Michael Williams (6’5 F, 2017) – As the game became stretched and Port Allen needed more guards, Williams sat but he’s a long and athletic forward who excels in transition and putbacks around the rim. Has elbow jumper and athletics to defend.
West Jefferson
Ray Anderson (6’5 F, 2016) – There may not be a hotter name in the 2016 class than Ray Anderson as he continues to prove he is able to play on the wing. Extremely athletic forward who shoots the ball well. Can defend perimeter but needs polishing. D2-LM wing.
Casey Ransaw (6’1 G, 2016) – Ransaw often operates as just a knockdown shooter for West Jeff but can handle the ball as well as his smooth left handed stroke. Strong build with the quickness needed to stay in front of other guards. Small college potential.
Eric Boyd (5’10 PG, 2016) – Boyd is the leader and engine that makes this team run. When the ball is in his hands, things go well for West Jeff. Can shoot from the perimeter but thrives as ball handler getting to the rim and on the defensive end. Small college potential.
Southern Lab
Roderick Hayes (6’6 F, 2017) – Hayes is a well put together athletic forward with an extremely high motor. Long arms and a solid base give him an advantage around the rim even against bigger opponents. Finishes in and around the rim and has the IQ to put pressure defensively in full court sets. D2 forward currently with LM potential.
Dexter Dennis (6’4 F, 2017) – The human highlight reel is finally back from injury and shaking off the rust. His outside game is developing and he defends the perimeter at a plus level. Once he adds the change of direction when ball handling, his ceiling will be limitless. LM-MM currently.
Tyriq Matthews (5’10 SG, 2017) – Matthews is currently just a shooter but working on becoming a lead guard as well. Can struggle against pressure but as he adjusts to this speed, he has the potential to be a small college guard. Athletic enough to defend as well.
