Antwaan Cushingberry
5’8 – PG – 2018
Cushingberry had a very good game shooting the ball. He’s gotten better on his jump shots this year, creating space and finding his spots. He had 14 points on 7 shots. He’s really stepped up his game this year and been the leader that LN needs. He only had 4 assists this game and part of that is due to his offense stepping up and some bad shots taken. Really liking the steps he’s taken since the summer. – 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
Kevin Easley
6’5 – SF – 2018
Easley struggled in this one. He had 11 points but it come on 13 shots. He has to start limiting himself as a jump shooter, he is really just letting it fly as much as he can right now and it is hurting. When he slows down and works to get a clean look he is great and usually gets solid results. Kevin did grab some big rebounds in this one and it helped, especially late when Roosevelt was trying to make a run. Just has to play within himself more. – 11 points, 11 rebounds
Ra Kpedi
6’8 – PF – 2017
This might have been a coming out party of sorts for Ra. The 6’8 forward was excellent today, being aggressive in the low post and attacking the rim over and over. Was solid over his left shoulder or even going up and under a defender. Roosevelt had plenty of size, athletic size, but Kpedi was able to clear that out and finish strong. A couple big rebounds on the offensive end, five of the, where he got second chance points. Best game so far for him. – 16 points, 13 rebounds
Wesley Bender
6’6 – C – 2016
Bender got back to his ways this game. Didn’t see his offense in the first game I watched but this one he did. He was great in transition where he could receive a late dump pass to finish easily at the rim. Moves very well for how big he is and can get from one basket to the other really quickly. Tough center with great grades and can fit in really well for a ton of teams a functional big that doesn’t make many mistakes. – 12 points, 4 rebounds
Gary Roosevelt:
Deon Moore
6’1 – SG – 2017
Moore is a long, lanky wing with some upside. He played off the ball most of today and was able to get touches on the perimeter and on drives. Lacks strength but has enough to make plays at this level. Has a nice frame that can fill out to maybe about 195 pounds. Moore scored most of his points on three pointers where he was able to pull up in transition. Solid shooting guard option where he can bring some athleticism and length to the court. – 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists
Jaleel Carson
6’7 – PF – 2016
Carson was really good today around the rim. The bouncy forward has a lot of tools that he can bring to the table. He’s long and with his bounce he can disrupt shots on the defensive end, had a few big blocks today. On the offensive side of the ball he used his length well to shoot over the top of the defense. Solid shooter and showed a ton of his athleticism on his drives to the rim. Had a nice baseline drive for a dunk and another in the open floor. Would fit in well as a perimeter wing player who can guard multiple spots. – 8 points, 3 rebounds
Chris Porter
6’6 – PF – 2017
Porter is a really athletic forward who excelled today at the rim. He’s got a great body and tons of athleticism and showed off for a few high profile dunks. He’s got a lot of room to grow but right now he falls into the athletic 3/4 who plays better in transition. Good frame that will fill out and could end up being a solid 6’6 / 220. – 11 points, 2 rebounds
Jaylen Sherwood
5’8 – PG – 2017
Sherwood was much of the offense for Roosevelt in the game even though he wasn’t a big scorer. He’s a ton to handle with his speed and aggressiveness. He’s similar to Cushingberry to where he can get high on jumps and grab rebounds or draw contact to get to the free throw line. Was great at creating space for his shooters on the perimeter. Lacked a solid touch today on his shot but he looked the part with a good release. Has to shoot it better if he is going to have a chance but not a bad guard from the Region. – 3 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists
DaKei Hines
6’7 – PF – 2018
Hines didn’t get a lot of run today because of foul trouble, three early in the game. He looked great when in with a big body and tons of strength. He’s been an offensive threat in other viewings so I know the talent is there. Had trouble keeping Ra Kpedi in front of him. If he can get a little more disciplined on the defensive end he will showcase a lot more of his game. Looks the part of a top end recruit.
