Geoff Hibbitt, a 6’6″ Junior of Ironwood High School, came into the game averaging 12 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. Alexis Jimenez, a 6’0″ F/C of Independence was averaging 13 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Hibbitt, who has somewhat flown under the radar due to Ironwood’s slow start, has been playing solid basketball all year, and he played a huge role in Ironwood’s success in this game.
Ironwood High School
Austin Haughee 6’2″ G/F 2016 – Haughee hit two threes for the Eagles, but played a very solid game. He does a good job of dictating tempo and is capable of scoring as he has 20 plus points in multiple games this year.
Tanner Forsberg 6’3″ G/F 2016 – Forsberg has been a very consistent player for the Eagles this year as he is second on the team in multiple categories. He led the team in rebounds and points in this game. His can shoot the ball from deep, has a high basketball IQ, and is capable of guarding multiple positions.
Cody Carmichael 5’9″ G 2017 – Carmichael started getting attention around Arizona over the summer. Although he has been experiencing a shooting slump as of late, he still impacts the game in an array of ways. He does a great job of getting in the paint and can pass with the best of them. He had 5 assists in this one.
Geoff Hibbitt 6’6″ C 2017 – Hibbitt has not earned the attention that he deserves. As Ironwood continues to improve, he should get more recognition around the state. He has very nice footwork and is a capable defender on the block.
Independence High School
Alexis Jimenez 6’1″ F/C 2018 – Jimenez is a big bodied player with above average footwork and an above average shot. As a Sophomore, he has been the strongest player to this point in the season. As his game grows, he could be a low level collegiate player.
