Myles Simmons
6’0 – PG – 2016
Simmons was not near as on as I saw him last week at Indianapolis Manual. He’s a volume scorer that can be fairly efficient but that wasn’t this game. His shot wasn’t falling but he did show a few of the things that made him great the other day. Has a solid pullup in transition and with his size he can sneak through defenses for some easy points. Tough kid and doesn’t get deterred too much. Should stick at the point and be solid there as a scoring threat. – 17 points
Valparaiso:
Trace Ramsey
6’6 – SF – 2017
Ramsey is an interesting prospect in the 2017 class. Would classify as a small forward with room to grow. About 6’6 now and has limited athleticism but solid agility. He moves really well but had trouble finishing at the rim a few times. He was quick and able to get to the rim well but will have to change a few things up to become more efficient. He didn’t show a ton of post up skill but did to an extent. Could be an area that could really bring into his own and get some added value on the recruitment front. – 19 points
Conner TenHove
6’7 – PF – 2016
TenHove looked much improved than this summer as he is finally transitioning into the post. He’s got a lot of talent but isn’t yet getting the most out of it. He was comfortable and effective in the point today scoring over his left and right shoulder. Showed soft touch and grabbed some rebounds. Still not very athletic so some Herron guards caused him trouble but with the right fit he could be really score in a few different ways. – 13 points
Steven Helm
6’1 – SG – 2016
Helm is a solid scoring guard who showed a really good pullup jumper. He was tough guard for Herron as his size and skill was too aggressive for them. He has a nice player who’s upside is in his ball handling. If he improves a little bit he can do more off the bounce against a lot tougher talent. If he gets a lot better he could help at the point and do it with size and length. – 14 points
