He’s averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in the early goings of this season, and has seen some very initial Division I interest come his way – but not much.
“I’ve gotten a couple letters from Rider, William & Mary, and Colgate, just initial interest letters that I have gotten in the past,” said Colston who says he’s remaining patient with his recruitment.
“It’s something I think about because I’m trying to get into college. And I’m confident that my play this season, and then later this summer will get me something.”
The 6-foot point guard mentioned to PHM that improving his passing and ball-handling have been areas of particular concern for him over the last six months.
“I’ve been working on ball-handling a lot, because I’m one of the primary ball-handlers on the team. So I’ve been working on that and making the right passes and finding my teammates,” said Colston, who is a definite two-way player.
“I’m still working on my defense. I’m the guy on the team who’s looking to guard the other team’s best player and looking to stop them from scoring.”
So far Colston has been producing at wildly successful rates for the Bengals. He’s a do-it-all lead guard for the team.
“On the team this year they’re really relying on me to lead the team, and to score and look for my teammates,” said Colston. “Right now I’m averaging like 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, so they’re looking for me to do a lot.”
“I’m just trying to help my team win as many games as we can.”
