The 5’7 scoring guard hasn’t seen the college interest pick up much yet but there is certainly a home for a guard who can fill it up the way he can.
“My strong points offensively are being able to create my own shot and my ability to find my teammates.” There is no doubt he can create his own shot with his scoring prowess. On the defensive end, his size could be an issue but he can defend guards. “Defensively my strong point is on ball pressure on other players. My weakness are guarding bigger guards often they try to post me up a lot.”
Understanding your weaknesses or shortcomings is a huge part of developing and Kaleb made it clear he understands what he has to do when he said this, “I am working on becoming a better shooter because of my size I need to have a quick release so I can get my shots off. Also, I trying to become more aggressive on defense.”
He spoke about his role this season as well, “My role this season is to be a leader because I have a lot of underclass on my team. Me being a senior I know they look up to me, so I have be a leader.” There are plenty of goals that do include becoming the All-Time leading scoring at ACHS. As a team it is simple though, “Team goal this season is to make some noise in the playoffs.”
Outside of the scoring record, he would like to have, “all district and all state honors.” Both of which are possible with his abilities. He said college coaches should note him, “being an on the court coach and the way I control my team. Also my unselfishness.” He currently has a 2.6 GPA with a 17 on the ACT so he’ll need a little work to fit where he needs to be.
