He has improved his ball handling and was attacking the paint getting to the charity stripe. Projectable frame with great size. He has long strides when pushing the ball in transition. Impressed as a passer showing a much better feel for the game and has combo guard potential going forward.
What does he see his fit on this team as a sophomore?
“Playing my role. Scoring when needed, defense, hustle, and effort.”
He ran with the St. Louis Eagles on the travel team circuit playing with their 15U squad. McGee feels playing against that level of competition helped prepare him for this year.
“I think I improved my shooting ability. Being more of a point guard playing on the wing. I think I had a good July with the Eagles.”
It is still early in the recruiting process. He has received quite a bit of mail, but no school is showing particularly strong interest early on.
“Recruiting is Wichita State, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, St. Louis, and Western Illinois. They are just interest letters.”
