Millford Mill Academy and Baltimore’s Finest product Brice Moore is ready to breakout this season with the Millers.
After generating some serious Division II and Division III interest during his 17U season with Baltimore’s Finest, he’s ready to see some offers come his way.
“I have a lot of interest from some Division III schools and a D2 school. The Division II school is Palm Beach Atlantic University (FL). And then for D3 I have; Salisbury, Hood, Susquehanna (PA), Catawba (NC, D2), and that’s the only ones I believe right now,” said Moore.
“I’ve visited Hood College and Salisbury University. I’ve gotten letters from Palm Beach Atlantic, they’d like me to come during the spring. The most interest I’m getting right now is from Hood, and Salisbury.”
The 6-foot point guard is not overly concerned with his recruitment right now, and says he’ll let his play on the court, and his focus in the classroom take care of things for him.
“I’ll let it (recruitment) come to me, I’m not too focused on it right now. I’m just trying to do what I need to do on the court and in the classroom. School really comes first before basketball, I’ll just make sure I do what I have to do in the classroom, and then basketball is secondary to me.”
Moore describes himself as a pass-first point guard, but he’s able to score when he needs, and his leadership is a quality trait of his.
“I’m a pass-first type of guy, and my strengths are attacking the basket hard, then finishing, or looking for the open guy when I attack,” he said.
“I’d like to work on my shot more, and my handles are OK, but I want them to be a lot better than they are right now before I get to college.”
With his first game of his senior Monday, the two-year starter says that as the captain, it’s his team to run this season.
“As a senior I am the captain for the team this year,” said Moore. “I’ll have a big leadership role with the team, and I’ll need to keep them motivated when we’re down, and keep everyone together. We really just have to play as a team, and just work hard together.”
