The Washington Post’s Top 20 now has found a spot for GCS as the Dragons improved to 7-2. They’ve already beaten two defending state champions (Meade and Oakland Mills), which is pretty impressive for a smaller private school in Howard County.
Anthony Longpre has scored in double figures in every game this year, including 16 in the 58-57 victory over Meade. He also added 15 in the 72-61 win over Oakland Mills.
GCS has lost to two tough Baltimore-area schools, Gilman and St. Frances, and should be a force in the MIAA for the rest of this season.
In Prince George’s County, Gwynn Park continued its good start with an 84-64 victory over Forestville earlier in the week.
Isaiah Miles led the way in the win. He posted another double-double in the victory with 18 points and 12 rebounds, at least the fourth this season for the senior forward.
The 18 points was a season high, according to The Washington Post, as Gwynn Park improved to 6-0.
