Canaan Coffey to Indiana Wesleyan
Batavia 6’3″ shooting guard Canaan Coffey had a breakout summer with Tri City Thunder. He is a plus shooter that moves great without the ball and has deep range on his jumper. Solid athlete that can handle it a little. Coffey made his commitment to attend Indiana Wesleyan next season. He told us why.
“I love the program there and what they do. It is a great school and great fit for me.”
Coffey discussed his relationship with the coaching staff.
“They started recruiting me my sophomore year. They were really good at building a relationship and connected with me. It seemed they really wanted me for who I am and they knew who I was as a player. I think they will really help me develop into the player I want to be on and off the court. I think it is the perfect fit.”
How does he see his game fitting in their system?
“I think I will bring intensity on both sides of the ball. Defensively I will be able to add a lot to them. Get guys going and bring a lot of energy. Offensively be a spot up shooter. They are a team where one guy can go off for 30 and then a different guy can go off for 30. They share the ball well and it is an offense I can fit in.”
