- Rocori. Beat Zimmerman by 15, take on Little Falls, Monticello, and Big Lake this week so they will have four games by the weekend. In fact, they will have six games played before the Islanders play Washington.
- Johnson. The Vern Simmons club doesn't play for another week when they play Woodbury. Johnson plays the Washington club that DeLaSalle faces the night before in a Friday night battle.
- Waconia. They have Prior Lake tonight and then take a trip to Superior, Wisconsin for a game this weekend.
- Delano. Beat Andover by 13 in the opener, face Central in St. Paul tonight, battle Sauk Rapids-Rice this Saturday.
- Orono. Outstanding first week for Orono as Coach Wohler and veteran big Sam Sustacek tells Minnesota “we aren't going anywhere!” The Spartans held number two ranked Marshall to 51 points and beat Monticello. Great first week. Maybe should be higher but tough to go to high as many haven't played yet.
- Kato East. Crushed New Ulm by 30, they have Owatonna this week and then a huge game against JM next Tuesday in Rochester.
- Mahtomedi. Hammered WBL and tonight they play a Chisago Lakes team that lost to North St. Paul in it's opener.
- Northfield. Beat Mayo by 8. Is Mayo better than expected or the Raiders not quite as good as expected early?
- BSM. Open with good games against Minneapolis South and Rosemount that have some good players. Is BSM ready to challenge DeLaSalle for the section title? We will have our first sign after these first two games.
Outside Looking In
- Marshall of course. They are a top ten team, I just didn't know quite what to do with them as four other teams haven't played and among the five that did half of them didn't really play a tough team. Not top ten for now because I don't think anybody else should drop out and they didn't play well against Orono.
- Byron and Cloquet lost early games. The Bears lost by just a point to a good St. Charles team where as a usually quality Cloquet club was smoked by St. Cloud Apollo.
- Waseca opened Class AAA life beating Tri City United by 24.
