- Spring Grove. The Lions start next week when they play four games to open the year. All games are winnable but they go Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Never seen that before.
- Rushford-Peterson. Breaking in a new group of starters, the Trojans gave up 66 points to Lewiston-Altura but still won by eleven points. Huge test is next Thursday at G-E-T in Wisconsin who is the only team that beat them last season.
- Battle Lake. Beat Hancock by 24 and now looking at a week off for Thanksgiving break before playing against next Tuesday.
- Central MN Christian. Won their opener 79-19. No, I didn't hit the wrong button on the keyboard, Buffalo Lake-Hector scored just 19 points. They play two games next week that could be just as ugly. This is like Nebraska vs the Big 8 in the 80s on the football field ugly.
- Browerville. Two wins on the board, next up is Upsala and LPGE who have been good in the past but maybe they have some solid holdovers.
- MTS. Picked up a really good win at Pine Island and now they are off for a week and a half before they head to Superior. Impressive W for the Wolves to start the season.
- Mt Iron-Buhl. Scored a cool 101 against Bigfork and now they have nine days of watching the videos of them getting buckets before they play Mesabi East.
- St. Clair. Beat New Ulm Cathedral and the Fighting Blossoms of BP to open the season. This is a team that should be 4-0 heading into a big game with NHREG.
- Red Lake. Beat Blackduck once already and now Cass Lake-Bena looms on the horizon next Tuesday. Could be the first of three meetings between the teams.
