6'0 guard Kenneth Arrick is ready to be a senior leader and lead the Sabercats to a playoff appearance and more with the backing of a great cast of players around him.
Arrick has said, “practice has started off well. We are in a lot better shape than we were last year. Everyone on the team has made our 6 minute mile.
Arrick went on to say this season Saguaro is running a “half court offense, defensively will be quicker than last year, we have the personnel to switch screens and apply pressure, additionally we will mix in soem zone and trapping schemes.
Arrick is very excited for the season to begin next week in the holiday tournament. “We will look to have high energy this season, with a lot of our team coming back.”
Kenneth feels comfortable with teammates he can trust. “Byron Murphy was 1st team all section last season, Jake Lieppert was 2nd team all section, but we also have a lot of other key contributors that play just as an important of a role as anyone on our team!”
Saguaro basketball has always been known to have good shooters and this year is no exception but look for a better effort defensively on the floor for the Sabercats.
In regards to Arrick's recruiting he mentioned that he has been in discussions with Gonzaga & Pepperdine about “preferred walk-on” opportunities but this is still a big season for Arrick. His goal has always been to play at the next level and he says, this is his “final chance to prove to coaches that I can play, I will take as long of time as I need to ensure that I make the decision that puts me in the best position to be successful in my future endeavors.
