Recruiting Report: Jacob Pfeiffer (2017)

<p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Springfield Lutheran 2017 center <strong>Jacob Pfeiffer</strong> is a 6’8” post from central Illinois.  He has a physical body and some tools to work with.  Great size and is active around the hoop.  Knows how to position his body and is a solid rebounder.  Prospect that the more games he gets under his belt the better he should continue to get.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Pfeiffer ran with the Illinois Bears 16U on the travel team circuit this past summer.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“It was really good.  I got a lot more opportunities to do things that I wouldn’t normally be able to do.  I got to play against different players.  I got to go to some different AAU tournaments.  I worked a lot on rebounding and running.  Since we usually only had about seven or eight guys so there was a lot of running.  It was a really good experience.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">How would he break down his game?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I have a lot to work on playing on the inside.  I have been working a lot on the outside shot and getting it all together.  I have to finish a little better.  I probably don’t have as much vertical as everybody else so I have been working a lot on hook shots and up and unders.  I have been trying to get positioning down.  Be in the right areas when point guards drive in.  Know when people are cutting.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">He spoke about his upcoming high school season and what he is excited for with that.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“We have a new coach this year.  I am looking forward to the new energy we are going to get.  I think we are going to do a lot more running.  I am looking forward to being a junior this year and being able to play a little more.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">What is going on with recruiting?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I have heard from a couple D1’s very briefly just asking for my email.  I have heard from a couple D2’s.  I have been looking at a couple D2 schools in St. Louis that I am interested in.  I was looking at Central Missouri and Missouri S&T.”</span></span></p>
