PV Invite: Day 1 Top Performers

<p><strong>PrepHoops Arizona</strong> spent a few hours yesterday at Paradise Valley HS & Sandra Day O&#39;Connor HS in Phoenix,Arizona to watch day 1 of games of the PV Invite. Below is a shortlist of the top performers that caught our eye.</p><h2>Joey Cipolletti 2016 Horizon 6'2 Guard</h2><p>Joey broke a Horizon school record by hitting 9 3&#39;s, the previous record was held by <strong>Chris Craig</strong>. His outside shooting help bring Horizon to a 113-105 victory over Chavez after being down 18 in the 3rd quarter.</p> <h2>Donald Carter 6'2 2017 Chavez Guard</h2><p>Carter was unstoppable against the Huskies, was a force on both ends of the floor, the opponents had a tough time keeping him in front while on the offensive end of the floor. Carter was able to score in a variety of ways for the Champions.</p> <h2>Dre Marin 6'0 2017 Apollo Guard</h2><p>Dre Marin of Apollo showed why he is a sharpshooter, finishing with 29 points on 22 shots in a blowout victory day of the tournament. Marin led the Hawks in scoring but also was able to do the little things on the floor to help secure a victory.</p> <h2>Malique Washington 6' 2016 McClintock Guard</h2><p>Malique Washington was efficient all night for the Chargers, finishing with 10 points, he was a key piece in a nice win over the North Mustangs. Not only did he impact the game scoring but he also made an impact on the defensive end and the glass.</p> <h2>Amiri Chukwuemeka 6'0 2016 McClintock Guard</h2><p>Amiri was a great floor general against North, being able to lead his team to a victory by his actions on the court and his leadership all game, whether it be on the bench or moving without the ball and directing his teammates.</p> <h2>Timmy Allen 6'4 G Desert Ridge 2018</h2><p>Timmy Allen led the way for Desert Ridge despite falling to a talented Arcadia Titans team. Allen was all over the court doing all he could for DRHS scoring, distributing and rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. Allen was able to have 5 exciting dunks to keep the energy going but the Titans were too much for Allen & co.</p> <h2>Nick Johnson 6'4 2016 Boulder Creek Guard</h2><p>Nick Johnson is now a solid 6&#39;4, seems to have more strength to him but what hasn&#39;t changed is hit ability to shoot the basketball, it might even be a little better. Johnson was able to hit shot after shot for the Jaguars to help them advance against a tough Perry team.</p> <h2>Matt Downey 6'1 2016 Boulder Creek Guard</h2><p>Downey was the pure pass first point guard that he always has been. Downey also was solid with his on ball defense against the Puma guard in a nice opening night victory for the Jaguars.</p> <h2>Tashon Brown 5'10 Paradise Valley 2019 Guard</h2><p>Tashon Brown caught on the radar last night in a win over a very scrappy Valley Vista team. Brown was able to handle pressure from aggressive guards and be able to distribute and score the ball for the Trojans in a opening night victory.</p>
