Here we look at a cross class reference point to see how they stack up against each other in our “Overall Prospect Rankings.” This is a look at prospects #46 – #50.
#46 SG Antonio Williams (Proviso East _ 2016)
Williams is a powerful and athletic 6’2” shooting guard that slices and dices the defense in transition where he finishes above the rim. Also is a plus mid-range shooter and has a lethal euro step when attacking the hoop.
#47 PG Tommy Lucca (Genoa Kingston _ 2016)
Lucca is a sound pass first point guard that knows how to run a team and get others involved. He makes crisp passes, moves well away from the ball, and is a good catch and shoot guy when left open. Proved he can score too as he puts up record setting points on high school team. Underrated athlete that handles it and is a true leader.
#48 PF Terrell Phipps (Simeon _ 2016)
Phipps is just what the doctor ordered for the Wolverines as they will get an interior presence to bridge the gap to the next generation of Simeon posts. What this 6’8” big man brings to the table is length, athleticism, and upside. Rebounds well and has potential as an offensive player being able to stretch the floor a little and score on the block.
#49 SG AJ Youngman (Peoria Manual _ 2017)
You can never have enough shooters! That’s the specialty of this 6’4” wing. He is a great spot up shooter in the catch and shoot. Also contributes as a rebounder.
#50 PF AJ Epenesa (Edwardsville _ 2017)
Epenesa will never play college basketball unless it is as a walk-on because he is a 5-star defensive end on the gridiron. As a basketball player the 6’6” post brings elite strength along with a tenacity on the glass. He scores in the post with quickness and powerful slams.
