The Peoria Heat 17U had some impressive showings on the circuit and they were led by our choice for program MVP all the way! Peoria Christian 2016 shooting guard Dakota Bennington wins PrepHoopsIllinois’ Peoria Heat program MVP. He is an explosive 6’4” wing that glides to the hoop with long strides. His athleticism plays well in the transition game with smooth acceleration. He plays above the rim including finishing acrobatic dunks. Bennington handles it well and is strong off the bounce getting to the line a nice rate. He plays with a motor game in and game out. The senior takes his game to new heights when his perimeter jumper is on.
His breakout weekend was at the Nike Spring Showdown when he took over several contests with his athleticism and opened the eyes of college coaches! Look for Bennington to take the confidence he gained on the circuit back to his high school team where he should put up monster numbers this year.
