Noah Jiskra has all the makings of a small-school sleeper. He put up nice numbers as a junior last season at Lyle-Pacelli, a co-op team out of the Austin area (that’s RJ territory, for those who don’t know), averaging 17.9 PPG.
NHR got a glimpse at Noah this summer, and we saw a wiry, 6-foot-4 prospect who looked every bit of a budding shooting guard. After spending his spring and summer with North Iowa Fire, he naturally gained interest from colleges in Iowa and southern Minnesota, among others.
“I had a very busy summer with tournaments at Wisconsin Dells and all the way to Kansas City,” Jiskra said. “I’ve heard from Gustavus, Northwestern-St. Paul, Crown College, Beloit, Luther College, Bethany Lutheran, Buena Vista, Morningside, the U of Chicago, Saint Mary’s and UW-La Crosse.
“I have only had time to visit Northwestern and Gustavus so far. I’m going on two overnight visits to those same schools, and I’ve planned upcoming visits to Buena Vista and Morningside as well,” Jiskra added.
Noah is beginning the process of narrowing down his options, as he already seems to be planning return visits; he told us that Christmas is a tentative decision date. Fall is a busy time for him, as he’s touring schools and training in the gym in preparation for winter.
“I’m still working on my shooting and finishing around the rim, even though I feel like all of my scoring weapons have greatly improved. I’m adding some muscle to bang around a little more, and ball-handling is my priority at the moment,” he commented.
