The 17U group for Arizona Magic Elite was often plagued by injury. The 16U group, while talented, was a bit inconsistent until coming on strong at the end. There are many players that could be considered including Malik Ondigo, Elijah Thomas, Chris Bowling, Nigel Shadd, Dre Marin, etc. However, there was one player who was the most consistent key to the Magic’s success ALL spring and summer in Holland Woods.
Woods, a 5’11” rising junior from Apollo, was the only class of 2017 player in the program to play on the 17U level. Not only did he score at a high level but he created scoring opportunities for each and every player on his team. When it was time to make a play, Kenny Mullins and company were always most comfortable with the ball in Holland’s hands.
