Caledonia. Gonna compete for title
Cannon Falls. They have to be better.
Chatfield. .500 seems to be about right
Cotter. Still struggling.
Dover-Eyota. Tough to repeat last year
Hayfield. Should be better
Kenyon-Wanamingo. New section, same results.
La Crescent. Will improve by a few games
Lake City . A contender no doubt.
Lewiston-Altura. Keeping above water
Pine Island. They will win more games
Plainview-Elgin-Millville. They can't be down for long.
Rochester Lourdes. Always there. Always
St. Charles. Ruhberg's show
Triton. I feel they flip around that 10-17 record
Zumbrota-Mazeppa. It can't get any worse can it?
Thoughts
- Caledonia played solid up at the Breakdown event missing key pieces. They were good at Gopher team camp. I just can't see anybody with the depth to beat them coming into the year.
- Lake City and St. Charles are the top contenders. Justin Ruhberg is a guy people need to get out and see. I'm betting you the Grassroots coaches will be scheduling times to get this explosive shooter a view.
- Brady Kuchinka. There were times this young man had a hand in every basket last year. Can he get this team to state? Is this the year for Lake City?
- The sides of the section aren't very balanced. Not much that should be done, just stating the obvious here.
- Rochester Lourdes. Every year they have a strong record and every year people think they will take a step back. Just doesn't happen.
- Definitely thought Triton was going to be better. Like Isaiah Wannarka. Somebody will get him in college and like what they have.
- Broc Finstuen. Great rebounder, good athlete, has the physique, skilled, does everything. Huge numbers. Pine Island fans ready for some gold.
- Gavin Schroeder is a sleeper recruit Minnesota. Find him at Caledonia. Owen King is not a sleeper, he's about to break out state wide with a huge year we believe.
- Dover-Eyota had a nice winter but there were some graduation losses. Can the returning players and youngsters mix to get back near that 20 win mark?
- We say Caledonia vs Pine Island for the section title.
