St. Charles’ 6-foot-4 wing Sean Scott is ready to once again make his mark on Maryland high school hoops this season after a very strong junior campaign.
The talented 2016 averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds last season while shooting an efficient 54 percent from the floor.
Despite his strong junior campaign and a 17U season spent running with Team Hustle, Scott says his recruitment has yet to take-off — though two out-of-state- Division III programs have sent letters.
“I haven’t really seen a whole lot of recruitment,” said Scott. “My coach has been telling me about some teams that are looking at me, I’m not exactly sure who though. I did get a letter from Marietta (OH) asking me to come to a camp, and my high school coach gave me a letter from St. Vincent College (PA) telling me to contact them.”
During his spring and summer with Team Hustle Scott says his leadership on the court was where he saw the most maturation.
“I think I did a good job at talking on the floor and helping my teammates and stuff like that. I scored when I needed to and made plays, but I think I improved my leadership skills overall, I used to not talk much during games,” said Scott, who described his strengths to PHM.
“I like to attack off the dribble, and I like to play in transition. I probably need to improve my off-hand hand more, and my perimeter shooting.”
With a successful junior season under his belt, Scott says he’ll go into his senior season with the Spartans confident, and ready to lead.
“My personal goal is to make sure I don’t regret anything my senior season,” he said. “And I want to make sure that everyone is playing together and everyone is playing hard.”
