The biggest takeaways from Gazaway’s performance were his creativity off the bounce and his playmaking ability— manipulating defenders’ momentum with smooth spin moves, shifty crossovers, and a willing to initiate contact to break defenders down in isolation for crafty scoring chances at the rim and in the in between area while at the same time maintaining his court vision and leveraging his scoring threat to draw help defenders on downhill drives, reading defensive rotations to find open teammates and make the extra pass. Complimented by deep range accuracy from three point distance, particularly off the bounce, further reinforcing his potential as an overall creator.

Woodbury took a tough loss to a traditionally strong Downingtown West (PA) program but had reason for optimism in the form of their dynamic freshman guard. Gazaway led the way with 20+ points, showcasing an advanced handle to get downhill quickly and efficiently before finishing with athletically but with control at the rim. He was at his best attacking the paint but also looked comfortable knocking down a smooth stepback 3.
