About Zalise

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I facilitate and control the tempo of the game. I drive to the rim to either look for the shot or attract the defense to open my teammates up for the open shot. Defensively I am always ready to force turnovers.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality is an introvert/extrovert. I am introverted and shy until I establish trust in the person. On the court I mesh well with any teammate I’ve come to be a part of. My mentality is to play hard and win! I look for the first best play that’s available to get us points on the board for my team. I am unselfish with the ball and could benefit from more confidence.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am an active member of National Junior Honor Society. I am an active member of Lamb County 4-H. I received All District Co-Newcomer of the year this year as a freshman.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being a freshman on varsity I had to learn my role on the court this year. We had a very young team during the school year, therefore I stepped up to be a good leader and encourage our team through all the trials and victories. I applaud them when they’re doing great and pick their heads up when things didn’t go our way. I have great communication skills and utilize them on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

As any young player there are challenges that come with the game of basketball. I have had to work on the building my confidence after losing it through summer ball my 7th grade summer. I am getting better with this and my school ball and new AAU coach have helped me tremendously in the process.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will provide stability and opportunities for my educational and potentially sports career.
