Haqq picked and pried at the Riverview defense all night long. In the second half, he figured it out. Haqq attacked the rim relentlessly off the bounce. He did a great job maintaining balance and finishing in traffic. Haqq was getting to the rim so much that he forced a response from Riverview. He was more than key in Lincoln Park’s ability to make a 2nd half comeback and even take the lead.

Haqq is an explosive player with an offensive mindset. He can catch fire and he did in Lincoln Park’s 51-40 victory. Park paced his team with a game high 23 points. Even better was the fact that he added 7 rebounds to his stat line. I guarantee we’ll see more high scoring games from Haqq.

Haqq caught my eye early and often in the evening. He was incredibly aggressive offensively. Haqq was shifty with his handles and was at his best attacking the rim. He finished with a righty flip in and another up and under the rim. Haqq then went left and finished right at the bucket. Later in the night he used a stutter step move to get to the rim and score.

Switching over the state of Michigan, 2026 guard Zahir Haqq impressed with his quickness. Was nearly unstoppable in transition and showed a very tight handle on the ball when he would get out and run. Pretty good three point shot as well but his strength is making plays at the rim, despite his shorter size.

The number next to his name doesn’t do justice to his game. Haqq has had a breakout season and a consistent high level contributor. He’s fluid with the ball and can create looks at the rim from gliding into change of direction.
