He is currently averaging 22 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds per game. Highlights include a triple-double on December 11 against Center High with 36 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, a double-double with 26 points and 11 assists on December 18, and a 36-point, 6-rebound, 6-assist performance on December 17 against Liberty Ranch.

He often leaves his follow-through hanging in the air, make or miss, appreciating the art of his shot. One of his strengths that stood out is his ability to knock down threes on the move in transition. He’s the type of player you have to find immediately after a miss, or he’ll make you pay. Villanueva’s shot rotation can be a bit unconventional, at times it comes off like a knuckleball due to him not fully depending on the seams of the ball. However he catches the ball is how it’s going up. You can tell the Greater Sacramento MVP has put countless reps into his shot. His teammates don’t even wait to see the result—they’re already raising their hands and getting back on defense.
