Varela is especially active pushing the pace in transition, getting out onto the break with pace. Active getting to the rim no matter the circumstance, the guard is especially determined to score at the rim. More than comfortable playing within a fast pace, the guard brings a consistent impact while under pressure. Through his junior season for Taos, Varela put up 6.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Varela’s role with Taos will be very intriguing, following the departure of especially productive 2023 forward, Daemon Ely.
