Goode, a member of the 16U HGSL squad, is a dynamic guard out of the Millbrook School in New York. Newly reclassed and on his way south to New York this fall, he’s a creative ball-handler that plays with tons of flair when he has the ball in his hands. While he does a nice job of keeping defenders off balance, he’s also proven to be a tough shot maker that can get a basket late in the shot clock. He does a great job of creating space off the bounce, elevates quickly into his jumper, and continues to improve as a decision maker out of ball screens. On top of that, he does a nice job of stepping into his shot in catch and shoot situations and is rapidly improving as a perimeter shooter.

continues to impress and make a clear impact on the court when I see him. Last night was no exception. With the ball in his hands, he was getting to the paint on his drives and efficiently finishing around the cup. In transition, he would beat the defense and get open for wide-open baskets the other way, displaying swift reverse layups and confidence through traffic. He was competing for rebounds the entire time and his effort led to him getting balls that probably should not have gone to him. Defensively he was also contributing by being a devil in the passing lanes and creating turnovers with his anticipation skills. Overall, a wonderful outing that built upon his success at the New England Expo.

Goode, another product of Connecticut, plays his high school ball at Fitch and has developed a reputation as a gifted scorer and playmaker. He can operate on or off the ball with equal success, showing a good understanding of what’s needed for his team to be successful. He does a great job of using his jab step and shot fake to keep defenders off balance and has a quick first step when trying to get into the paint. He elevates nicely into his jumper off the bounce, and does a good job of getting his feet set and exploding into his shot behind the perimeter. He’s a gifted scorer that shows signs of being a dynamic creator down the line. Defensively, he’s another gritty and competitive, point of attack defender. He moves his feet well, hounds opposing ball handlers, and quickly turns defense into offense in transition. He’ll team with the next guy on this list to form one of the best underclassmen backcourts in New England this winter.

was the clear alpha dog of Team 3, and one of the best players overall at the Expo. His shiftiness, stop-and-start game, and general quickness were very effective at getting to the rack. He also was scoring in creative ways, as his bag consisted of fadeaway middies, floaters, and euro steps in transition. The ball was moving too when he was running the point, making high IQ reads to cutters and keeping the offense flowing with quick decisions. Defensively, he was competing hard and getting into the teeth of opposing ball handlers. His motor never waned, which caused his coach to rarely remove him from the game! It was a scintillating outing, which in turn made Goode one of the standouts.
