Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Monroe has been one of the stronger teams up in the Wesco and is actually still undefeated in the state. They have a balanced approach but Prohn is one of their steadier performers who can score from different levels and plays a smart basketball brand that helps out the rest of his team. He can shoot from deep, has some craftiness around the paint, and has great spatial awareness and how to get the ball there. He is constantly in motion, not moving at blazing speeds, but making quick decisions and staying ready to make a move off the catch, which allows him to speed up defenders while staying under control.

Wyatt plays under-control and composed as the main ball handler for Monroe. He does a phenomenal job at changing the pace and finding his open teammates by always having his head up. He makes his shots at a high percentage, always taking the right shot and not forcing anything for the team or himself.

Monroe is a team that could make some noise this year and Prohn is a kid who can really drive their offense with his shot-making. He was on in their first game, sinking in jumpers and leading the way to a win over Lindbergh. And he showed some toughness in their second game against Puyallup, getting to the paint, converting with crafty spins, and finishing from tough angles. He’ll be a kid to watch on a tough Monroe squad this winter.

A second-team all-Wesco 3A/2A selection, Prohn stands out for his outside shooting (35% on the season) but brings a lot more to the table than that. He’s a high-activity player who can make plays on both ends, shows good footwork and patience when attacking gaps, and generally makes quick-decisions with the ball. A ready player who can get his shots off quickly and plays with good pace on the offensive end.

Prohn is a pretty quick guard who can get some things going off the dribble and handle the rock, but the biggest thing that stood out with his game was his shooting. This kid can flat out shoot. I saw him earlier this month and he hit three 3s from a few feet behind the line, one with a hand right in his face, one off the catch, and one off the dribble. He has some real talent to get his jumper to fall from various set ups and distances.
