William’s all-around game was on display this weekend. He showed that he could score from the wing in a multitude of ways(jumpers, pull-ups, and through contact layups). He displayed the same diversity on the defensive by consistently guarding much bigger forward/centers and consistently fighting them(and winning) critical rebounding battles. East Central has some good guards, and Williams does a good job of starting the break with a pass and running to the rim to finish. His energy level stays high, which enables him to tip balls and get to loose balls. Lots of upside for this kid; he is one to watch going forward.

Will Franklin of East Central High School, Utilizes his length on defense. Will applies string ball pressure Will’s deflections mostly occur from the backside position. Will creates deflections and steals that often lead to transition baskets. Will Franklin is equally comfortable, shooting the three. mid=range or taking it to the basket. Ever growing confidence in his mid-range game makes him a true offensive force.

When evaluating Will Franklin’s game first you must notice height, length and athleticism. Will has great range on his outside shot from countless hours putting in shot work. Will is a steal, blocked shot or deflection waiting to happen often resulting in a fast break for his team. Will is a consummate team player, biggest desire is winning.

Will is not your ordinary class of 27 shooting guard/wing. Will tough and gritty, plays with an internal competitive fire. Hustle defensively, closes out properly, rebounds out of space, and deflects passes using his length. Offensively fast break opportunities off deflections, Will attacks the rim, dunks everything possible, knocks down 3 pointers consistently. Will is a winner.

Already a legitimate 6′ 4″ long and defensive minded, can guard all positions. Great at deflecting balls, his weak side defensive IQ allows Will to cover large areas of the backside. Will loves to deflect a poor pass and then dunk the ball, much to the delight of the spectators. Offensive skills, scores the ball at all three levels, very interesting prospect to watch this summer.

Will Franklin is a a freakish, twitchy athlete with a great work ethic. Will blocks shots from help side rotation with his tremendous length, plays passing lanes well creating many deflections. Offensively Will fills the lanes of the transition offense extremely well, scoring for himself or using his athleticism for an offensive rebound. Will maintains focus and intensity throughout the game, competing at a very high effort level throughout.
