Hoggard goes into their matchup with West Charlotte clearly as the underdog but one of the X factors that can help them pull off the upset is the play of this young man. He has the ability to play multiple positions on the court and can impact the game in a variety of ways.

Seward continues to help Hoggard on what has become a dream season as he helped them dispatch cross town rival Laney in a dominant 51-33 victory in Greenville last week. In the win, Seward finished with 20 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Assists, and 6 Steals while shooting 7-11 from the floor and 6-7 from the free throw line. Seward’s versatile two way game was shining incredibly bright for a Hoggard team that felt destined to get through the east and find themselves in the State Championship game. Seward can play above the rim in transition, score it from all over the floor in the half-court, and exploit mismatches when they present themselves. His steady progression into the player he currently is leads you to believe that he still has more room to develop into an even better player at the next level. He certainly knows how to win and is looking to bring that title back to the beach if he can help Hoggard knock off West Charlotte in the 8A championship game this week!

Seward is proving to be one of the 910’s most productive seniors with what he’s done at Hoggard this season. With his team sitting at 14-5 and 6-1 in league play, it looks like Hoggard is one of the area’s top teams with Seward as a major reason why. The senior is averaging 17.4 Points, 6.8 Rebounds, 1.4 Assists, and 1.5 Steals on the season. He’s doing all of that on 60/39/68 splits, showing he can score it from every level on the floor. Seward has a true inside/out skillset, he can post smaller guards and exploit more traditional bigs with his ability to make shots and create offense off the bounce. Seward can guard multiple positions and understands the difference in defensive responsibilities when guarding different types of players. Hoggard will be a really tough out in 8A and should be looked at as a real contender to come out of the east. Seward is a huge reason behind this groups success.
