Hanke has been an unsung hero for a veteran group at Saint X. Will does a little bit of everything for the state’s top team and is high academic on top of that. Bellarmine had offered a PWO spot. I can see him playing at that level.

Hanke recently was offered a roster spot at Bellarmine but I think he could be a real difference maker at the D2 or NAIA level. Will has great size and is skilled, too. He’s tough and has a high IQ. If he wants to chase the D1 dream, Hanke likely commits to Bellarmine but I think he would thrive at a place like Kentucky Wesleyan or Thomas More.

Hanke possess a well-rounded skill set. He drives to the basket and efficiently scores with a variety of moves, even while being fouled. He is a reliable shooter from deep as well. His vision and passing ability create scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Hanke can get overlooked because Saint X has so much talent but he’s a big wing forward who can score around the bucket or knock down open perimeter shots. Will is a top player in the region and the Tigers will rely on him to help get them to Rupp in March. A D2/NAIA/D3 school would get a big time steal if they got Hanke.

I have been a member of the Will Hanke Will Hanke 6'5" | PF Saint Xavier | 2025 State KY fan club for a few years now. One of the more effective players in Louisville, Hanke has good positional size and a diverse skill set that lets him show his scoring prowess all over the court. Don’t sleep on Will being an impact player at a high academic school early in his college career.

St Xavier got strong production on the interior from Hanke and Henry Peters. While Peters had maybe the highlight of the game with an and-1 poster slam dunk, I wanted to spotlight Hanke’s contributions. A skilled stretch forward who could put it on the floor and was a good decision maker. I thought Hanke’s feel for the game and ability to set teammates up had Male scrambling defensively. Should get a lot of small college interest starting this spring and summer.

Hanke is a strong wing with good size that is a mismatch for defenders. He is too quick for bigs to guard him, but also too big for guards. He wants to get rebounds and lead the break. He was extremely efficient vs Holy Cross barely missing a shot. High IQ player that never forced anything. Colleges should be all over him.

Hanke has been an overlooked player for Saint X for the last two seasons but he’s one of their most steady contributors. Will is a double figure scorer and the Tigers leading rebounder. He’s possesses a high basketball IQ and while he’s not an explosive athlete, he is actually pretty athletic and can guard multiple positions.

Hanke had a good showing overall on Saturday. He shot the ball well and showcased an improved ability to handle the ball. Will has always played with a good motor and this camp was no different. Between his academics, his size (legit 6’5) and his skill set, Hanke will be a steal for some school down the line.
