‘ defensive intensity was evident during the Rucker on Wood, as opposing players were forced to pass to teammates or commit turnovers. Overall, Tywan was undoubtedly the best defensive guard I watched in the 2026 class at the Rucker on Wood. Off turnovers, Tywan was one of the main players to score in transition at the basket. Offensively, there were multiple times where Tywan would aggressively attack the basket, absorbing plenty of contact and finishing at a good rate. Throughout my time watching him this past AAU season, I’m expecting him to carry his momentum into the upcoming high school season! You can count on Tywan to compete with every minute he has on the court.

Tywan is a true extension of the coach on the floor. He used his communication skills to effectively get teammates in the right spots and was constantly vocal during timeouts, in-game situations, and on defense. More than just a voice, Collins uses his quickness on both ends of the floor, making him a true 94-foot defender. He also showed the ability to break down defenders with his crafty handle as a left-handed point guard.

When watching Tywan play it’s very evident that he is a great competitor on both ends of the floor willing to do anything to help his team win. Offensively he takes smart percentage shots on all three levels that he converts at a high level for HABC Hoops. He doesn’t mind contact at all when challenged at the rim by defenders making tough layups around defenders. Defensively he can give opposing ball handlers a problem due to his intensity on that end of the floor. He is a player that will do the little things that don’t show up in the stat sheet. While being a vocal leader on the team he will always make sure that he is doing his part to help the team win.

Not enough can be said about the vocal and defensive leader of the Cy Creek Cougars. Their season came to a disappointing end in the first round of playoffs, but Collins has established himself as a matchup nightmare on that side of the ball. Despite being undersized, he knows how to be aggressive and give ballhandlers headaches with physical defense on the perimeter. His ability to see the floor on offense is also very effective as he has proven himself as a true point guard, which is rare these days in the game of basketball. Look for Tywan to help take over leadership of the team next year with the departure of some key seniors.
