He utilizes his IQ and handles to get to his spots, and from there has the height to shoot over most defenders. Price’s ascendance has been fun to watch, and hopefully he can keep it going in Hurricane, Utah.

Tyson Price Tyson Price 6'2" | SG Utah Prep Academy | 2026 State UT provided a good amount of scoring for the Crusaders as he typically does. He was frequently moving to pay dirt and finding cracks in the defense. His quick maneuvers also helped him dodge defenders who attempted to contest his shots.

He also uses his length and height to shoot over defenders, and can fill it up in a hurry if he starts to feel it. Price battles for rebounds and utilizes his length to disrupt passes as well.

Price’s play in the post season was something to watch. He has more than a few moves that he can utilize to lose his defender. After creating separation Price can hit mid-range jumpers or take it all the way to the hoop. Although his season stats aren’t incredibly gaudy, I believe it’s just a matter of time before his production skyrockets.

Tyson Price Tyson Price 6'2" | SG Utah Prep Academy | 2026 State UT started cooking in the third quarter for the Crusaders. I noticed him constantly changing of direction, which got his defenders on their heels. He also operated with good pace, and was able to get to his spots efficiently. Price also had a couple of steals, that he then took the rest of the way for lay-ups. Although Faith Lutheran didn’t get the win, I really liked the way he competed.

Tyson Price Tyson Price 6'2" | SG Utah Prep Academy | 2026 State UT has the perfect build for the shooting guard position. His 6’2” height and long wingspan make it a nightmare for whoever he’s defending. Price’s on-ball, defensive IQ is one of his best attributes as a basketball player by accumulating multiple steals through some of his games. When Price shoots the ball, he shoots it with confidence, which is very valuable for a person at that age.

Price will look to be one of Faith Lutheran’s leading scorers this year. He often makes crafty moves around the rim and connects on tough shots. But he also has good court vision and can find an open teammate on the block or in the corner. As a defender, he uses his wingspan to disrupt his opponent’s shooting stroke.
