Tyler is probably the most valuable player in the state to any one team. He averaged 30 points and 16 rebounds for a Phelps team that went 16-14 last season. Without Weddington, they could have been 6-24. I think Tyler has a chance to lead the state in both scoring and rebounding in his Senior year. At the next level, Weddington is an undersized post player but he impacts winning in so many ways so that some school will take a chance on him.

Tyler Weddington Tyler Weddington 6'4" | PF/C Phelps | 2027 WV has a natural feel for where the ball is coming off, establishing position early and competing hard to control space. His activity and timing allow him to create extra possessions, making him a strong presence on the boards and inside the paint. He brings a physical, high-energy approach on both ends, embracing the work that doesn’t always show up in the box score. Offensively, he understands spacing, can step out and hit shots from the perimeter, and finishes efficiently around the rim. His footwork and awareness in the paint stand out, and can operate with his back to the basket.
