Expert Analysis
Joshua Burish | Prep Hoops Scout
Sierra is a dynamic playmaker whose flair and creativity make him an exciting player to watch. He has a knack for delivering eye-catching plays, whether it’s his explosive pull-up jumper or his ability to catch fire from beyond the arc as a confident three-point shooter. A tough and fearless guard, Sierra consistently attacks the paint and finishes effectively against bigger defenders. As a lead point guard, he’s equally impressive in the passing game, finding tight windows, sharing the ball unselfishly, and setting up his teammates for success. On the defensive end, he moves sharply and disrupts ball-handlers and passing lanes, often getting his hands on the ball. A smart and impactful player, Sierra has been instrumental in the Hawks’ 7-7 start against strong competition, and small colleges should take note of his ability to contribute at the next level.

Sierra, the point guard from Maine South, is a solid contributor on both ends of the floor. He has smooth elevation, great touch from beyond the arc, and flows freely on offense, using screens effectively. An underrated passer, he also excels defensively, navigating screens, causing deflections with active hands, and displaying vocal leadership.

Tyler had arguably the most productive game I saw all weekend, going off for 35 points on Saturday afternoon. He may have been the smallest player on the floor, but Tyler was absolutely fearless going at the rim. Did a nice job of playing off two feet allowing him to go up balanced and draw contact to earn trips to the free throw line. Started off the game hot including three 3’s and a mid-range jumper. He’s not just a scorer though, as he dished out five assists, showcasing his ability to get into the paint and dump it off to his bigs around the rim.

Tyler got off to the fastest start of any player I’ve seen this spring in a Saturday afternoon matchup. It took him roughly a minute to get 7 points from a three, a mid-range pull-up, and a transition score, and about 8 minutes into the game he already had 15 points adding in a couple more 3’s in the process. Listed at a generous 5’11, Tyler is so quick with the ball in his hands, and is a scrappy player who isn’t afraid to drive to the rim and play through some contact. He was so good at drawing fouls and picking up easy points at the FT line in the process. His quickness also translated to the defensive end where he could sit deep in a stance and pressure the ball. Finished with 35 points and 5 assists in arguably the top individual performance I saw all day.
