About Trenton

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as a tough competitor with tremendous ability to score with the basketball. I can shoot the three which can be hard for defenders and my length helps with deflections, steals and rebounds. Playing in transition is my strong suit.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I want to compete. I want a challenge. I want to win all while bringing my teammates along with me. I am a vocal leader and a hard worker. With a good playlist, I like to have a little fun too!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am actively involved in 4-H and FFA. In the past year, I have been recognized as a State Project Finalist with by 4-H Wildlife project and Conservation Project. I was recently named a top three finalist in the state for my FFA Diversified Crop Supervised Agriculture Adventures project. I am also involved with in Shooting Sports were I have placed in the Top 3 at many shoots.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being involved in leadership clubs like 4-H and FFA instill the basic principles of leaderships, exploits the importance of finding ways to work with others and the importance of being a good steward in your community. I have been able to develop into a better communicator through that involvement and it translates on the basketball court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The challenge I have faced is being from a rural town where there is not many basketball opportunities or gyms available to work out in work. I have been able to overcome this by continue to show my dedication to this sport and partnering with people like the school janitor that will allow me in the gym early in the mornings.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open to most college types. An intimate college with community support fits my rural America roots. But, a new experience in a larger city excites me!

A junior who is a solid athlete and even better perimeter shooter. Caught him in a game earlier this month where he hit at least 6 three pointers. Can get it going off the bounce or as a spot up threat with deep range. Has these moments of next level athleticism, which included a dunk in transition and an impressive block. The vertically is there, but he needs to work on being more fluid in his lateral movements. Newkirk is 8-8 on the year and with a shooter like Morton, could cause some upsets come playoff time.
