Moore’s defensive impact and anticipation flashed in Kansas City, as he consistently read and disrupted opposing offenses. He’s another player who can turn defense into offense in a hurry, pushing into the open floor and attacking before defenses get set. An unselfish player, Tra keeps teammates engaged with his feel for the game and his ability to read how defenses are moving. He created a number of clean looks at the rim by finding openings and delivering accurate passes. Defensively, he can really lock in — beating ball handlers to the spot and generating deflections. With his quick hands and lateral movement, it’s easy to see how he can shut down opposing guards. He also plays bigger than his frame when attacking the rim and has an efficient stroke from deep. You’ll see stretches where Moore can string together buckets on his own and take over games. With his ability to play both on and off the ball, he’s well-positioned to expand his versatility and show next-level programs he can fill multiple roles.
Moore started with perimeter shooting and ended up being a certified BUCKET. Has range out to the college line and the moves to do the damage all over the court. Good uses of pump fakes all over the court, which combined with his body control made for quite the viewing of him scoring tough bucket after tough bucket. Quick off the bounce, but not in a hurry on drives. Has the little guard swagger needed to not only survive but thrive on the defensive end. A loud performance on both ends in a victory.
Moore played with a high IQ over the weekend and was able to help his ETG Midwest 3SSB squad with a strong performance against Sizzle MHC on the last day of competition. Tra is always under control and makes good reads with the ball in his hands. His ability to find teammates in open spaces while not getting sped up or out of control really stood out. Look for the Staley standout to continue to grow offensively as he showed that he can provide scoring from both the mid-range and from beyond the arc.
Tra Moore was consistently good for ETG last weekend as he scored in double figures in three of the teams four games.
Moore had a tight crafty handle and good speed that allows him to get past defenders. Tra is a good finisher once he gets downhill that often finds creative ways to navigate traffic down low.
He is a solid shooter especially off the catch who can also make shots off the dribble. Moore makes quick decisive decisions with the ball allowing him to hit driving lanes or kick to open teammates on time.
On defense he is often in good position and like many of his teammates is a threat to take the ball away from the offense.
Moore’s best game came against Southern Assault where he scored 14 points five rebounds and three assist on two made threes in the teams win.
