About Timothy

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have a strong frame being at 6’3 195lbs. I use this frame to post up smaller guards and work them in the post. I also have a great set shot shooting 40% from 3 in the highschool season. I drive down the slots hard and draw contact leading to free throws. My game is simple and based on finding the open guys on my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I lead my team by example and have a strong focus on making sure they avoid the same mistakes that I will and have made.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned how to lead with example and setting the tone while being a team captain my junior year. While working BCC basketball camp I learned how to teach kids the right habits in their development as young athlete.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Mostly personal challenges with my family, however, I do not let this effect my work ethic or my recruiting in anyway

There’s no doubt in my mind that Byrd is one of the best DIII prospects you’ll find in Maryland. Not only do I think he can come in and make an impact from day one, but he’s equipped with valuable leadership intangibles that you see in all-conference type of upperclassmen playing at that level. Byrd averaged 19 points per game as B-CC went 1-1 on Saturday, but his willingness to guard any position on the floor, communicate in effective fashion defensively, and make others around him better on the other end while remaining efficient in his own scoring attack are all reasons why he’ll see his stock improve after this weekend.
