He looks comfortable on the court and is not afraid of the moment. He is a shooting guard with point guard skills and is effective both on and off the ball. This summer will be an eye-opener for those who have not seen him play much, as he possesses an elite game and significant upside.

He showed that he can be the primary ball handler for a team by stepping in as PG on most possessions. When someone else wanted the pressure of bringing up the ball, he obliged and then showed his ability to play on the wing by scoring from three, the mid-range or by getting to the rim. He also, constantly moved without the ball creating more basketball opportunities for his team mates to make play. He moves to the ball when it is in the air creating a lot of second chance opportunities. Bottom line is Matthews demonstrated his abilities in a competitive environment and proved he is worthy of a ranking spot.

Teriyl showcased his versatility at the camp, proving he can impact the game in multiple ways. He is a dynamic scorer who can create his own shot or thrive playing off the ball. A confident shot maker, he knocks down jumpers with consistency and poise. His smooth handle allows him to break down defenders and get to his spots efficiently. With his length, he contributes on the defensive end by contesting shots and rebounding at a high level. Teriyl’s all-around game makes him a valuable asset in any lineup.

He is a long distance shooter that works to get his team mates involved on the offensive side of the ball. He is a cerebral player and even though he is an elite shooter he has moves to get into the paint, and uses the floater as one of his weapons. He has been impressive all AAU season including a 7/10 three point shooting performance. Matthews is impressive and one of the brightest young players in the state.
