firmly established himself as one of the most versatile and lethal offensive threats for Sipp United 17U. Displaying a polished, modern scoring package, Gipson proved that he doesn’t rely on a single system or matchup to impact the scoreboard. In front of college scouts, his ability to score efficiently from beyond the arc, in the mid-range, and at the rim forced opposing defenses to pick their poison, making him a focal point of every game plan. “What separates Tayshawn as a 3-level scorer isn’t just that he can shoot from everywhere, but his elite shot selection and IQ while doing it. In the high-pressure cauldron of an NCAA Live Period, he never forced the issue. If the defense ran him off the line, he took the mid-range; if the big man dropped, he attacked the rim. His offensive versatility makes him an incredibly easy plug-and-play asset for the collegiate level.”

Gipson is another fast-rising name in the state, and his 20-point performance was just a sign of things to come. He is a legit 6’4″ point guard with all the skills needed for next-level play. From a skill perspective, he is the complete package. He continues to adjust to the physical Louisiana style of play and its fast pace, but with each game he looks more and more comfortable.
He can match skill with any player in the state and has a natural flair that stands out. He is a servant-style player who resists the urge to dominate the scoring load, choosing instead to play the long game by working his teammates into scoring positions. In the long run, this will pay off and shows that he doesn’t just want to score. He wants to win, and he prefers to do it as a key piece rather than the dominant piece.
He plays the right way, and coaches will line up for his services at the next level.

The lanky guard can do it all: Shoot, pass, defend, rebound, you name it. He is a three level scoere who has played on the international level. He transfers into Union and will be an immediate star like his dad, Sergerio, in the late 1990’s. He may be #6 on the list now, but that will surely change by the end of the season. Player Comparison. Cade Cunningham. Grissom Pick #6.

Gipson is a name to get to know. In his first day of high school competition it was obvious that his skill is next level. Gipson is a Point Guard with wing size. There will be an adjustment period while he learns the team, but his eye for making spot on passes and reading the floor were his strength of the day. He resisted the urge to make the scrimmage a showcase of his offensive skill, but scored in spots and set the scoring table for his team mates. Checking the skill boxes was one part of his game, but he also checks the energy and leadership boxes as well. Gipson will play college basketball, and coaches will line up for his services at the next level.
