About Talen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a pass first point guard and I am willing to do anything I can and I need to do for my team to win. Every time I come on the floor I try and be the leader and make everyone else around me better! Both defensively and offensively, I am aggressive. I attack the ball on both ends; I am versatile in play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I will do anything to win. I am willing to be the hardest working player in the gym. I am focused, driven and determined. My life-long goal is to play college basketball and I do all that I can to reach that goal.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I played this past AAU season for STARS- North. Currently, a free agent, looking to be picked up.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am always trying to be the leader on the floor and try to help my teammates be better at the game as well. I am a member of both National Honor Society and Beta. They are both service clubs. “Service over self,” is a mentality I live by both on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I try to not worry about missed shots- and immediately look for the next opportunity to make a move that benefits my team. I have had some slumps in my career as far as points here and there, but in those times is where I was able to improve my defensive game, my pass game, my leadership role on the floor. It’s not about me; that’s one significant lesson I’ve learned. It’s a team effort.

What type of college are you looking for?

I truly feel I will be a good fit for any college looking for a versatile point guard, who can shoot outside the key, but also drive in under the basket. I will help make any team better through leadership, dedication, hardwork and being flexible and coachable.
