Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Against a Newton North team that was a hot sleeper pick to beat Springfield Central and perhaps even go further, Bey scored 21 points on 9 free-throw attempts and a host of layups at the rim. He’s simply too big and skilled for MIAA bigs to contend with, and he’s in significantly better conditioning shape than you’d think given his frame. Bey is Springfield Central’s best chance at a final 4 run.

Bey is simply bigger and stronger than virtually everybody in the MIAA. The lefty has good post moves and is a serious threat on the low block as a scorer and passer. You’d think he wouldn’t be in the best shape, but Bey can run the floor and leads a talented Springfield Central squad. He’ll probably be the most important player on their team this postseason and will be a matchup nightmare for certain teams.

Bey is absolutely a big man to watch this season for Springfield Central. After a really good year on the AAU circuit with Middlesex Magic, the 6-foot-5 forward has shown he has what it takes to dominate at the MIAA level. He’s quite difficult to stop in the post because of his craft and density, and he has really excellent passing vision and feel when it comes to how to operate in tight spaces. The lefty senior is going to turn heads this season and is set up nicely to be a D3 player at the next level. Like many of these guys, a post grad year is a possibility, too.
