. After not seeing enough of him over his first two years, I’ve finally gotten to see Smith in several situations over the calendar year, thus the 16-spot move up in the rankings. Crick is one of the best shooters in the Upstate, so if you need a guy who you can run actions for, take a deeper look at this St. Joseph’s 2027.

This was my first in-person look at Smith and the Knights this season, and they didn’t disappoint. Crick had a game-high 15 points without needing to do much in the fourth quarter because of the large gap on the scoreboard. He got going early by knocking down two of his first three attempts from downtown, both coming from the top of the key and the latter off a designed elevator action. Smith is always active without the ball in his hands, relocating around the wing and making hard cuts even when he isn’t the main target of the action. Crick also looked aggressive as a driver with a nice crossover and good vision to kick to his teammates.

Crick was due for a regression spot after hitting a school-record 8 3s the last time out, but he was still an important piece in the offense without knocking down an outside shot in this one. Smith looked much more confident handling the ball, both in attempting to get shots off the dribble and in trying to set his teammates up. Each of his two field goals came at the rim, one being a leak-out transition layup, and the other a running floater after being driven off the three-point line.
