About Shawn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Pass first, high IQ point guard with elite twitch muscle quickness and athleticism. I shoot well from the 3 and finish above the rim with both hands. My ability to make my teammates better is one of my best attributes. I also rebound at a high level for a guard. I love defense and am a great on the ball defender, making it difficult for opponents to get in the paint.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm an extremely focused and disciplined person. I have a strong desire to get better and constantly work on improving my skills and game. I'm confident and don't put limits on myself. I'd also consider myself a leader on and off the court. I don't follow what people are doing and just stay true to being my most positive and healthy self.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being at a prep school this year allowed me to become more independent in my decision making, it increased my responsibilities and forced me to improve my communication which all contributed to me becoming a stronger leader. I also volunteered at a nursing home and on a farm, which allowed me to connect with others outside of basketball and helped me foster a sense of purpose.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had several injuries throughout my career that took a toll on my mental health at times. I was unable to play AAU my sophomore and junior year because of these injuries and used that time to work on the mental side of my game. I read books and used meditation to help me get through those difficult times.

An above average passer hitting teammates on the go with his great accuracy. A real shifty, quick guard who can beat you off the dribble. A great help as a defender understanding team defense rotations. He can easily be a double double with points and assists on any given night.
