Expert Analysis
Jake Sayers | Prep Hoops Scout
Shane is one of the best players in the class of 2024. Shane is also one of the most underrated players in the class of 2024. The versatility of Shane on both ends of the floor allows him to play any position on offense, and guard one through five on defense. Shane is one of the hardest working players there is. Shane had 24 points 7 assists and 8 rebounds in the first game. He is a triple double threat and a beast.
On offense Shane can blow by slower defenders on the perimeter. Shane can also make defenders pay for not closing out on him from 3. Or Shane can simply post up defenders using his strength to finish around the rim, or fade away and use his nice mid range shot to score over defenders. Shane can handle the ball and not only create for himself but make great passes to set up his teammates for open looks. Shane is also a great offensive rebounder and great at creating and scoring on second chance point opportunities.
On defense Shane is so long and athletic he is able to swat shots and keep defenders in front of him. His length allows him to get his hands in the passing lanes and create turnovers. Shane is also an excellent rebounder, who knows when to push it in transition and when to slow it down and find a guard to get the ball to.

Shane is easily the most underrated player in the class of 2024. Had he not had a season ending injury his junior year he would be gaining much more attention. At 6’5″ he can guard any position on the floor, box out, protect the rim, block shots, he is very vocal on defenses as well. And on Offense Shane can play in the post, punishing smaller defenders, Shane also has a great shooting form allowing him to knock down mid range and three’s with ease. Shane is also a great offensive rebounder who can clean up misses and score a lot of second chance points.

It doesn’t matte if it is a championship game, training session, or pickup at the park Shane is going to go 110% every single time he plays. Shane might be the most versatile player in his class. At 6’4″ his ability to handle the ball, and shoot makes him a great perimeter player. However, Shane can also play with his back to the basket in the paint and still dominate. Shane is a monster on the boards, and can guard anyone on the court. He is an extremely versatile player that will carry his team his senior year.

Shane missed most of his junior year due to a broken arm. He had a great performance in the Grit Region Kickoff. Shane is one of the hardest workers, personally having coached Shane I truly believe there is not a harder worker than him. Shane is able to post up as well as play on the perimeter. On defense he can guard 1-5 and is a great shot blocker.
“Shane is one of the hardest workers I have ever met. If he had not broke his arm his junior year he would have been one getting much more attention. However, Shane is making up for lost time every chance he gets, whether it is at 5am before school or 10 pm, Shane is always looking to get better and is extremely coachable” – Coach Sayers
